Wimbledon – one of the biggest sporting events in the UK. This is a time of year when the rules of fashion are thrown out the window. A time of year the ladies get to don their sophisticated garb and outlandish hats. This year, however, the attention has turned to the players. Yes, that’s right. The players. Tennis attire is quickly becoming another fashion genre. First, let’s take a look back one hundred years ago when women first started playing tennis. They actually wore corsets and were required to keep their wrists and ankles covered. Can you imagine playing in the heat of the summer with such restrictions? Over the years things have evolved significantly. Forget about covering up anything! Fashion at Wimbledon 2010 has generated a significant amount of attention both off and on the court.

The ladies seem to be bringing some femininity to their on-court look. Over the years, women’s tennis clothes have evolved from frumpy to fabulous. They have gone from ‘boy’ shorts to ruffles and lace. Although they continue to wear the traditional white, there are some colorful additions to this year’s wardrobes. The girls spice up their outfits with colored panties under their ruffled skirts and dresses. They also broke away from the standard tennis top in favor of a more athletic, yet still feminine, style with colored piping or trim. So where is the relevance in all this? Ask any designer. The addition of the many style and color choices of these garments opens up a whole new market for them. It is a chance for both designer and player to make a statement without saying a word! The combinations are endless and I think we will be seeing a lot more changes in upcoming seasons. I have just one request for the designers. Please leave the hats on the spectators!

Paris is considered as fashion capital of the world and here you will find many world renowned designers presenting their exclusive clothing and accessories.

Now in 2010, the fashion again has changed. People have become bolder and are looking for clothes that are not only stylish but comfortable also. Rather than an obligation fashion today has become an enjoyment.  Designers are leaving no stone unturned in coming up with unique designs.  Unlike earlier years, today mix of designs, prints and colors are carefully worked out with the help of technology.

The use of artistic drawings and solid colors are dominating today’s fashion industry

Today’s fashion laid more stress on uniqueness or exclusivity. People prefer clothes that match their personality or lifestyle and are exclusive.  . Some of the designers are even integrating personal photos or images into the new designs.  Fashion may come and go, but the photos are priceless and that is the reason of their huge demand.

We often read latest fashion magazine or watch latest fashion television program to know what is in fashion and what’s out, and then we began to look for the “must have” item of the season. Well, this eagerness is natural, since everyone wants to look good and updated. However, we should realize that good fashion doesn’t imply latest trends. In fact, it means clothing that looks good on your body and suits your personality.

It is much easier to know the current fashion trend, what to wear and what to not.  Designers come out with their new fashion lines frequently, and in a short span of time they get outdated. This process goes on and on. It is very difficult for us to keep pace with fashion, almost impossible.
